Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Structural Fitters to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, fitting and assembling structural metal components in accordance with blueprints, schematics, and industry standards. Your expertise will contribute to the creation of durable, high-quality metal structures used across construction, industrial, and manufacturing sectors. # 281-973-0477 Structural Fitter Responsibilities Read and interpret structural drawings, blueprints, and fabrication details. Lay out, fit, and assemble structural steel components to specified dimensions and tolerances. Align, clamp, and tack weld components prior to final welding. Measure, mark, and verify dimensions using precision measuring tools. Operate fabrication equipment such as grinders, drills, saws, magnetic drills, and cutting equipment safely and efficiently. Inspect materials and completed assemblies to ensure quality standards are met. Perform fit-up of beams, columns, braces, plate work, and other structural assemblies. Work closely with welders and supervisors to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule. Identify and resolve fit-up issues by making necessary adjustments while maintaining quality requirements. Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and safe work practices. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Assist with material handling using overhead cranes, forklifts, and rigging equipment when qualified. Meet production schedules while maintaining high standards of workmanship. Report equipment defects, quality concerns, or safety hazards promptly. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and quality. Preferred Qualifications Minimum of 2-5 years of structural fitting or steel fabrication experience. Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and weld symbols. Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication techniques. Experience using precision measuring tools (tape measure, square, level, calipers, etc.). Ability to safely operate fabrication equipment and power tools. Knowledge of rigging and overhead crane operations is preferred. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work in a physically demanding environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Reliable attendance and the ability to work overtime as needed. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Pay:
$22.00 - $28.00 per hour People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply
