Person Welder Test Consist of:
  • FCAW ( Flux Core ) 1/16" 0 wire weld
  • at least 2 yrs of WORK experience
  • Set up welding machine
  • Angle clip fillet
  • Tee joint
  • Full pen ( 1 G ) with back gauging ( REQUIRED )
  • must pass x-ray after cooling down All positions require : physical / drug screenings

United States (Required ) Position Summary Performs structural steel welding to approved drawings, fit-up conditions, and applicable weld procedures. Level placement is based on verified welding capability, independence, quality, productivity, and procedure qualifications. Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform welding on structural steel assemblies and components as assigned.
  • Read weld symbols and fabrication drawings to the level required for assigned work.
  • Set up welding equipment and select approved settings/consumables for assigned procedures.
  • Inspect own work for weld quality, completeness, and obvious defects before release.
  • Coordinate with fitters, machine operators, material handlers, and supervision to maintain workflow.
  • Protect finished work from unnecessary damage and keep the work area production-ready. Minimum Hiring Qualifications
  • Ability to perform structural steel welding safely.
  • Ability to pass Palmer Steel weld testing or provide verifiable current qualifications acceptable to Palmer Steel.
  • Basic ability to understand fabrication drawings and weld symbols appropriate to the assigned level.
  • Demonstrated reliability, safe work habits, and quality awareness.
