Overview Join our dynamic team as a Sign Building Expert and become a vital part of creating visually impactful and durable signage solutions. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in metal fabrication, welding, and construction to assemble, install, and maintain custom signs that meet precise specifications. Your mechanical knowledge and hands-on skills will drive the successful completion of projects, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency at every stage. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse signage projects in a fast-paced environment where your craftsmanship makes a real difference. Duties Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and fabrication shop drawings to accurately guide sign assembly and installation. Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math to ensure precise fabrication of sign components. Operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, and welding equipment including
MIG, TIG, FCAW
(Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) following AWS standards. Fabricate metal parts from sheet metal and other metal materials through cutting, bending, welding, and assembly processes. Read construction blueprints and mechanical blueprints to determine dimensions, materials needed, and fabrication steps. Adhere strictly to safety protocols while working on construction sites or fabrication shops to prevent accidents or injuries. Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards for signage durability and appearance. Requirements Proven construction site experience with familiarity in metal fabrication and sign installation processes. Proficiency in operating cranes, power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, and measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers. Strong understanding of blueprint reading—both technical drawings for fabrication and construction plans for installation. Mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints accurately. Experience with various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and GMAW—preferably aligned with AWS standards. Skilled in using shop math for measurements and calculations essential for fabrication accuracy. Knowledge of safety protocols specific to construction sites and fabrication environments. Ability to work with sheet metal fabrication techniques including cutting, bending, welding, and assembly of sign components. Familiarity with construction experience related to signage installation or similar projects is highly desirable. Capable of interpreting technical drawings accurately to ensure precise fabrication and assembly of sign structures. Pay:
$18.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
