Overview Join our dynamic construction team as a Hod Carrier/Hod Tender and become a vital part of building exceptional structures! In this role, you will support skilled tradespeople by handling and passing tools, materials, and supplies efficiently on busy construction sites. Your proactive attitude and attention to safety will help ensure smooth workflow and high-quality results. This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of construction, masonry, and renovation projects while working alongside industry professionals committed to excellence. Responsibilities Assist masons by carrying and passing tools, mixing materials, and supplies accurately and safely. Prepare work areas by organizing materials, setting up scaffolding, or assisting with layout tasks based on blueprints or schematics. Support the installation of rebar, formwork, or framing components for concrete pours or structural elements. Maintain a clean and organized job site by removing debris, securing tools, and ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times. Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment as trained and authorized under supervision. Read and interpret basic blueprints or schematics to assist with layout or material placement tasks. Collaborate with team members on renovation projects involving stucco, plastering, tile laying, or metal stud framing to ensure quality workmanship. Qualifications Prior construction site experience is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential. Knowledge of concrete forming, rebar installation, masonry techniques, or roofing is a plus. Ability to read schematics and blueprints accurately to support project execution. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation enhances your effectiveness on site. Strong teamwork skills with excellent communication abilities to coordinate with tradespeople effectively. Physical stamina to stand, lift heavy materials, and perform manual tasks throughout the workday. Commitment to safety standards and procedures at all times during construction activities.
