Summary WesTech is in need of a Paint and Sandblast Prep Technician who is responsible for preparing materials for painting and sandblasting. The position requires use of overhead cranes, lift trucks, hand tools, grinders, and sanders for the preparation of metal surfaces for industrial painting. In addition to painting preparation, you may be required to work in the fabrication area cutting, bending, deburring parts for welding. Knowledge of basic hand and power tools, knowledge surface preparation, operation of lift truck and general shop and yard maintenance. Candidates for this position may be required to pass pre-employment and periodic screenings, including background checks, drug and alcohol tests, or other necessary assessments.
Essential Job Functions:
Understand and follow directions Use of measuring devices i.e. tape measure, micrometer Operate band saw Operate multiple types of drills Use of grinder and de-burring equipment Operate lift trucks Operate overhead cranes Maintain inventory Works independently to specifications from instructions, prints and drawings Performs maintenance on associated equipment to ensure all remains in proper working order Good communication skills Other duties as assigned Here are the skills that you need: High School diploma or equivalent Knowledge of raw materials and alloys
Preferred Qualifications:
Painting, & Sandblasting Preparation Background in steel fabrication Welding (FCAW, SMAW, GMAW)
Physical Requirements:
