Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Shipfitter to join our dynamic manufacturing and construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, fitting, and installing metal components with precision and efficiency. Your expertise in welding, fabrication, and blueprint reading will ensure the highest standards of quality and safety are maintained throughout all projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex shipbuilding or heavy industrial structures, contributing to innovative projects that demand technical excellence and teamwork. Responsibilities Interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately assemble ship components and structures. Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and <

> welding to join metal parts securely. Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly. Cut, shape, and fit sheet metal, ductwork, piping, and structural components using plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment. Operate rigging gear and forklifts safely to move heavy materials and assembled sections during construction processes. Follow strict safety protocols aligned with ASME codes & standards while working on complex assemblies involving mechanical knowledge and pipe threading. Assist in the fabrication of structural elements for ships or industrial facilities by adhering to schematics and technical specifications. Knowledge of rigging procedures, mechanical systems, pipe threading, soldering, and assembly processes. Familiarity with ASME codes & standards relevant to welding and fabrication practices. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication work. Valid certification or experience in crane operation; forklift certification is a plus. Strong teamwork ethic with excellent communication skills; ability to follow detailed instructions diligently.
