Alaska Marine Lines is looking for a motivated individual to repair, maintain and perform preventative maintenance on Containers, Platforms and Tanks. This is a Safety Sensitive position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned : Inspect and analyze containers, platforms and tanks for proper repair Perform structural repair on containers, platforms, and tanks. Evaluate project, determine safety precautions and follow precautions needed for the task. Set up, cut, and fit material for welding. Metal weld, tack weld, by flame torch, arc stick rod, arc wire feed for proper repair on metal range from gauge material to 2" fillet welds and pipe welding. Prepare items for welding by disassembling parts and acquiring needed parts. Works with sheet metal fabrication. Works with installing and removing plywood flooring. Record daily repairs in M&R maintenance software. Remove defective parts. Comply with all company safety polices, including use of protective equipment and Fit for Work.
