Landfill Liquid / Gas Technician Waste Connections $32-34/hour, life insurance, flexible benefit account, paid time off, short term disability, 401(k) United States, California, Castaic May 26, 2026 Chiquita Canyon Landfill, a Waste Connections company, is looking for aLandfill Liquid & Gas Technicianto join the team inCastaic, CA! The schedule will be Monday-Friday + most Saturdays. Weekend work and overtime is often required. Shift is 7am-4:30 or 5pm. The pay range for this position is$32-34/hour,depending on experience. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Clean and repairleachateor water pump by lifting and lowering 100 foot long cables Assemblingnew parts on existing pumps Checking, monitoring and cleaninggas wells Reading and keeping track of gas well data Operating small pieces of equipment such asbackhoe Working with team and contract employees Working outside in all weather conditions. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT
Work involves constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, bio hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work;heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds. Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules that are set forth; promotes the Company's safety standards; work with a sense of honesty, integrity and trustworthiness. Ability to adhere to work schedule and follow through on challenges as they arise Minimum 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Equipment operatingexperience is preferred. Validdriver's licenseandclean driving record.
