Job Description
Camino Real Landfill, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a Landfill Gas Technician to support our landfills in NM and AZ, based in Sundland Park, NM! We offer competitive pay, great family benefits, a 401k match and paid time off! The schedule will be Monday-Friday with occasional weekend work and on-call responsibilities. Duties and Responsibilities This Role will require at least a once-a-month trip to Durham Landfill in Florence AZ, to monitor its landfill gas wells, and complete routine compliance paperwork. Individual must have the ability to work independently without direct supervision. Assist in installing gas collection wells, pipes, and other infrastructure. Support the operation of a 3rd party RNG facility located at the Camino Real Landfill Use Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) and High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) piping materials and associated equipment. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on gas collection system. Monitor landfill gas wells to ensure that the gas collection systems comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations. Calibrate and operate data collection equipment. Collect and manage data entry from gas collection system. Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing issues within the gas collection system. Perform general maintenance around the landfill and gas collection system. Inspect and monitor utility flares, blower skids, and other associated gas capture and collection equipment. Operate and maintain liquid management system pumps within the gas collection system. Assist with other environmental compliance duties as needed. Work Environment Required to work outdoors approximately 90% of each workday. Work involves exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and weather extremes. Required to traverse rough terrain daily. Requires physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds. Required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure that all work complies with Company safety regulations. Qualifications Previous gas experience preferred Ability to adhere to Company policies and procedures. Available for on-call response to gas system operations. Valid and unrestricted driver's license.
