GAS
INSPECTOR

Join CNNGA as a Gas Inspector and help ensure the safety and reliability of natural gas service throughout our communities. Compensation is commensurate of experience. Principle Accountabilities include : Inspects all residential and business installations of natural gas lines to ensure safety and compliance with all applicable codes, laws, and regulations. Maintains and files accurate and up-to-date inspection records; prepares inspection reports as required. Receives and responds to customer inquiries; interprets gas codes and explains Gas Authority policies and procedures. Assists in locating gas lines as necessary. Interacts and communicates primarily with various groups and individuals, such as management, Operations and New Construction, T.F.O., Service, Installation, Maintenance, co-workers, customers, and ORS.
Secondary Duties:
Operates a vehicle and a variety of equipment such as an air compressor, air gauge, meters, telephone, radio, small hand tools, welding tools, etc. Assists in the fueling and maintenance of vehicles used in daily tasks. Repairs gas leaks as necessary. Assists in maintaining a neat and clean workplace. Adheres to and enforces applicable safety standards. Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Requires five years of utility operations and maintenance, gas pipeline installation, and/or maintenance experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must have and maintain a SC Driver's License and the ability to maintain standards for insurability. Accurate completion of required documentation. Within 24 months, obtain and maintain pertinent Operator Qualifications and successfully perform job-related skills as required. Desired qualifications : Associate degree in a Technical Field 3 years' experience in the natural gas industry. Possess and maintain a valid state of South Carolina commercial driver's license. Electrical experience Heavy equipment operation
Welding Experience Physical Requirements:
Work is minimally strenuous but may require exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body; will involve walking or standing for extended periods. Primarily working outdoors and may involve working during inclement weather. Must be able to walk over uneven terrain. Must be available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and out of town, as needed. Pay:
$18.50 - $20.50 per hour
