Job Description

To support continued growth, Jacobs is seeking an experienced Senior Landscape Architect to help lead impactful programs and projects in Chicago and across the U.S. This role sits within the Advanced Planning Group (APG), a multidisciplinary team focused on master planning, urban design, and landscape architecture that bridges public and private sector work. In this role, you'll act as a design leader and seller‑doer, shaping complex, multidisciplinary projects; strengthening client relationships; mentoring teams; and advancing resilient, nature‑based solutions that address today's environmental and urban challenges. What You'll Do Serve as Design Lead for complex, multidisciplinary planning, urban design, and landscape architecture projects Lead the creative design process from concept through construction documentation and construction support Integrate landscape architecture with architecture, engineering, planning, and infrastructure disciplines Provide technical and design oversight to ensure quality, design intent, scope, schedule, and budget alignment Mentor and guide landscape architects and project team members in design excellence, process, and client service Support business growth by identifying opportunities, contributing to proposals, and participating in client pursuits Collaborate with sales and project leadership to define scope, fees, schedules, and delivery strategies Build and maintain strong client relationships across public and private sector accounts Advance standards for design quality, documentation, and delivery across projects Contribute to Jacobs' thought leadership through speaking, writing, and professional engagement Participate in construction observation and review to confirm alignment with design intent and specifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture 10+ years of professional experience leading landscape architecture or interdisciplinary design projects Registered Landscape Architect Proven experience leading design teams and delivering complex projects Strong creative and technical proficiency in planning, design, and construction Willingness to travel regionally and nationally on a limited basis Ideally, You'll Also Have Experience with resilient, regenerative, and nature‑based planning and design strategies Seller‑doer background with demonstrated success supporting business development and client growth Familiarity with the Chicago and/or Milwaukee metropolitan markets Strong hand‑drawing and illustrative design capabilities Experience working across geographies and lines of business within a large, multidisciplinary firm Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
