Landscape Designer Epic Landscape Productions Olathe, KS Job Details Full-time $55,000 - $185,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Flexible spending account Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Flexible schedule Retirement plan Qualifications Customer communication Interpersonal skills In-person customer service Word embeddings Site planning projects Driver's License Construction plans Bachelor's degree Organizational skills Hardscaping construction projects Productivity software Manual handling Lighting design Construction documentation Full Job Description General Summary of Responsibilities The Landscape Designer must be thoroughly familiar with designing all aspects of landscape construction to include site analysis, grading, drainage, plant selection and placement, hardscape (patios, walkways, decks, barbecues, gazebos, etc.), water features, lighting, etc. The Landscape Designer must have excellent analytical as well as aesthetic skills and provide excellent customer service. The Landscape Designer monitors the installation of landscape and irrigation projects on a daily basis and interfaces with customers, subcontractors, and suppliers. The Landscape Designer will also interface with other departments including Production and Accounting. Responsibilities/Duties Designs project and estimates costs of the project for the customer. Interfaces with customer and ensures that all of customer's concerns are addressed in a timely and professional manner. Establishes design budgets and deadlines for customers. Conducts appropriate site analysis. Presents final design. Continually informs and updates customers as to design progress or lack thereof. Conducts site visits and ensures project is produced as designed with appropriate materials. Analyzes and approves all change orders. Thoroughly understands and complies with company policies, procedures, and SOPs.
Skill set and educational requirements:
The Landscape Designer must possess the following skill set and preferred educational background: Minimum of three years of design experience in the green industry. Minimum of three years of design experience with landscape design software and/or old school skill's. Bachelor's Degree preferred (preferably in the green industry). Able to conduct a thorough site analysis. Able to analyze drainage and grading requirements. Able to design quickly and efficiently. Able to translate designs into working drawings/documents for field personnel. Possess a valid driver's license and must be insurable on company's insurance policy. Proficient in both oral and written communications. Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel. Able to represent the company in a courteous and professional manner. Ability to organize, prioritize and multitask in w fast paced work environment. Experience with customer service. Excellent verbal communication skills. Supports organization's goals and values. Observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly. Other Duties Support Epic's goals and values. Promote and market Epic through outside activities by attending trade shows and Association meetings. Balance team and individual responsibilities. Follow policies and procedures. Complete all tasks correctly and on time. Observe safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly. Undertake self-development activities. Additional projects assigned, as needed.
