Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled design professional with expertise that bridges landscape architecture and civil engineering. The ideal candidate is passionate about integrating aesthetics with function, sustainability with constructability, and community needs with regulatory realities. This position is ideal for an individual who excels in both creative site design and the technical rigor of engineering.Key Responsibilities:
Lead and support site planning, grading, drainage, and utility design for a variety of public and private projects. Develop conceptual and detailed landscape design, including planting, hardscape, stormwater management, master site plans, and open-space programming. Prepare construction documents (plans, details, specifications) that meet applicable engineering and landscape standards. Conduct site analysis, feasibility studies, and code/permit review. Collaborate with Design + Build teammates, and clients to guide projects from concept through construction. Create compelling visual presentations, reports, graphics, and renderings to communicate design intent. Perform technical calculations and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Participate in client meetings, public presentations, and project coordination efforts.Education and Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in landscape architecture, civil engineering, or a related design/engineering discipline required. 3-8 years of relevant experience in site development, landscape design, or multidisciplinary design practice required. Professional licensure (PLA, PE) preferred.Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Proficiency in Revit (or AutoCAD/Civil 3D), GIS, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D visualization tools (SketchUp, Lumion, etc.). Strong understanding of grading, hydrology, stormwater management, and construction methods. Excellent communication skills, both graphic and verbal. Ability to balance creativity with technical precision.Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Experience visualizing and presenting design concepts. Ability to develop creative solutions and contribute innovative design ideas.
