Job Title:
Landscape Architect Job Description Join our dynamic team as a Landscape Architect, where you will perform landscape design and land planning assignments. You will utilize AutoCAD to draft plans, working drawings, and graphics, and accurately calculate areas, densities, and quantities. Your role will involve performing cost estimates for landscape designs and conducting landscape site evaluations and installation verifications. You will provide design support to our project management team through hand rendering, AutoCAD, Photoshop, and 3D graphic production, and coordinate with the design team and other consultants. Responsibilities Perform landscape design and land planning assignments. Utilize AutoCAD for drafting plans, working drawings, and graphics. Accurately calculate areas, densities, and quantities. Perform cost estimates for landscape designs. Conduct landscape site evaluations and installation verifications. Provide design support through hand rendering, AutoCAD, Photoshop, and 3D graphic production. Coordinate with design team and other consultants. Essential Skills Proficiency in AutoCAD LT, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign. 1-4 years of experience in landscape design, hardscaping, and/or horticulture. Fundamental knowledge of local plants. Experience working in creative design-based roles. Ability and willingness to obtain professional licensure. Additional Skills & Qualifications BS in Landscape Design/Architecture or related field. Knowledge of presentation graphics and design/rendering software such as SketchUp. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator is preferred. Work Environment This opportunity is within a smaller company specializing in Ecology/Natural Resources and Landscape Architecture. The company has a stable backlog of work and consists of about 24 employees. You will work in the office 75% of the time, with the remaining time spent in the field performing CQA work. You will use your own vehicle for site visits and receive mileage reimbursement. The company offers a flexible and hybrid schedule, competitive wages, full benefits, and a collaborative work environment. Project types include 25% development, 15% municipal, and the rest residential communities. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wheaton, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $36.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
