About the Position We are a California-based landscape design studio seeking a Landscape CAD Drafter / Design Assistant to support residential landscape design projects. This role is well suited for a landscape architecture or landscape design student, recent graduate, or junior-level professional with strong technical and graphic skills who can work remotely within California. Responsibilities Produce accurate, well-organized 2D landscape concept plans, design development drawings, and construction document sets Create landscape and hardscape plans, including planting layouts and material callouts Develop legends, symbols, callouts, keynotes, and consistent graphic standards Assist with concept design, design development drawings, and construction documents Support visualization through 3D renderings and/or hand sketches Revise drawings efficiently based on design direction and client feedback Communicate clearly regarding deadlines, revisions, and project status Requirements, Location & Eligibility Must be based in Los Angeles or elsewhere in California Remote work permitted within California No overseas or outsourced work Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. Technical Skills Proficiency in AutoCAD required Ability to produce professional landscape and hardscape plans Strong command of CAD graphics, symbols, legends, and callouts Experience assembling clean, well-structured drawing sets Design & Visualization Ability to produce 3D renderings and/or hand sketches Software such as SketchUp, Rhino, Lumion, Photoshop or similar, or strong hand-sketching skills Professional Skills Strong organizational skills Clear written and verbal communication skills Ability to take direction, apply feedback, and meet deadlines Detail-oriented, dependable, and self-motivated Portfolio Requirement Please submit a portfolio or work samples demonstrating relevant experience. Portfolio may include AutoCAD drawing sets, landscape or hardscape plans, 3D renderings, hand sketches, or academic/professional project work. A PDF portfolio or link to an online portfolio is acceptable. Pay range is negotiable and contingent upon experience, skill level, and qualifications.
