Job Description

Description Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Manager, Landscape Architecture to join our team in our Austin office. This position will support a variety of divisions at Westwood, including Public Infrastructure, Land Development, and Renewables. In this role, you will manage multiple projects, lead a team of landscape architects and technical personnel, manage schedules, business development, project utilization, revenue, and yearly projections. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients. Requirements Manager schedules and balances work between teams and shares work between regional teams. Build upon business development initiatives and relationships.
Operations:
including project performance metrics, utilization, projections, profits, revenue, etc. Uses developed organizational skills to deliver projects efficiently and thoroughly. Effectively uses current computer-aided design and production software to maximize project delivery efficiency. Takes a proactive role to enhance the training and professional development of assigned team members. Creates and maintains a positive environment and team approach for all assignments. Actively performs other tasks as assigned or individually identified to benefit the company's overall efficiency and work environment. Performs manpower projections and staffing management for multiple tasks and projects to maximize profitability while maintaining the quality of project deliverables. Prepare scope/fee proposals and manage contracting processes. Maintains effective communications with multiple design teams, other design consultants, the internal engineering and survey departments (re: schedules, deliverables, and billings), and other appropriate parties, both verbal and written. Manager relationships with our clients and internal teams to provide the best products and services Contribute to the regional landscape architecture practice and strategic initiatives. Effectively maintain and grow the team, including landscape architects and technical personnel: Manage staffing levels to match available and projected backlog. Recruit and interview candidates for open positions. Promotes training and professional development. Maintains job satisfaction and morale through a positive work culture. Performance evaluations and career growth plans for team members. Required Skills Demonstrates competence in fundamental landscape architecture, including the ability to prepare a full construction document set for small to large projects with multiple disciplines. Ability to manage staff effectively and build a cohesive and people-focused team. Ability to prepare proposals and contracts for new projects. Ability to manage projects, including budgets, timelines, quality, revenue, and profits Can develop cost estimates, specifications, and field reports Understands construction administration and general construction methods. Demonstrates proficiency with current computer-aided design and production software and the ability to learn new versions or new technology. Qualifications Minimum of ten (10) years of experience. Registered Landscape Architect in the state of Texas, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire. Graduate from an accredited university or college with a bachelor's degree in landscape architecture or urban planning Experience or degrees in other disciplines may be considered at Westwood's discretion.
