FINISH LOADER OPERATOR FOR A GRADE CREW
Job Description Works with the finish grade crew. Perform tasks including physical labor on roads, highways, residential/commercial areas, and heavy construction projects. Operate a front End Wheel Loader. Assist other field personnel. Perform a variety of duties on construction projects, transferring from one task to another as directed. Roles and Responsibilities Understand and check grades with a string line Pick up windrows of dirt and lime rock WITHOUT digging holes in the finished surfaces. Load dump trucks safely, and efficiently. Finish corners in a parking lot with a front-end loader where the motor grader can't get to. Do shovel work, and run a roller when needed Signal operators of construction to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications Level earth to fine grade specifications Look ahead to see what next steps are needed Familiarity with Trench Safety and Job Site Safety Maintain and secure a clean job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards Efficiently & safely load and unload delivery trucks with a loader and haul, hoist, handle, and store materials as needed. Qualifications and Education Requirements 1 year loader experience on a grade crew required High School Diploma, GED, Trade School or the equivalent preferred One year's experience in Civil Underground Experience using GPS required Safety minded Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time, and perform strenuous physical labor in adverse field conditions Must be able to work in Duval, Nassau, Clay and St Johns County
