  • Full-time We're looking for a dependable, hard-working individual who isn't afraid of physical work and takes pride in operating and maintaining equipment.
If you're mechanically inclined, comfortable using tools and machinery, and enjoy working with your hands in a fast-paced production environment, we'd love to hear from you. As an Assistant Planer, you'll work alongside experienced team members to set up and operate planing equipment, maintain machinery, and help produce high-quality lumber products. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys learning new skills while building a long-term career in manufacturing. Responsibilities Set up, operate, and assist in maintaining planers and other mill equipment. Use hand and power tools to perform machine adjustments, repairs, and routine maintenance. Read production prints, cut slips, sketches, and specifications to ensure dimensional accuracy. Inspect finished products for quality and conformance to specifications. Work closely with production team members to keep operations running safely and efficiently. Assist with general mill operations and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Strong work ethic and reliable attendance from 7AM-3PM every day. We work in the snow, rain, and sun. Mechanically inclined with experience using hand tools, power tools, and industrial equipment. We work with our machines to maintain, adjust, and even create new parts or pieces as needed. Experience operating manufacturing equipment such as planers, forklifts, loaders, saws, lathes, and similar machinery is preferred. We use all of these daily. Ability to use tools to properly measure, cut, dado, etc. wood and other materials with mathematical precision. Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and work as part of a team. Ability to troubleshoot equipment or materials and solve problems in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to safely lift and carry 80+ pounds on a regular basis . Able to stand, walk, bend, climb, and perform physically demanding work throughout the shift. Background in construction, logging, sawmills, heavy equipment, manufacturing, and/or other skilled trades preferred. Please include a brief cover letter with your application.
