Full Job Description Southlake Orthopaedic Sports Medicine & Spine Center, PC Position:
Workers' Compensation Assistant Position Summary:
As a Workers' Compensation Assistant, you will assist the Workers' Compensation Coordinator and Occupational Services Coordinator in a supporting role to ensure all aspects of care are achieved for all injured workers referred to Southlake Orthopaedics.
Qualifications:
Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills Ability to responsibly handle and maintain confidential information Must demonstrate tact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions Well organized, ability to multi-task, self-motivated and willing to learn in a fast-paced environment Fundamental knowledge of insurance industry, claims and the insurance legal and regulatory environment is helpful Basic knowledge of orthopaedic medical terminology to help prioritize urgent vs non-urgent referrals
Responsibilities:
Assist patients, coordinate chart information and schedule patients per approval from workers' compensation carriers Interact effectively with peers, providers, patients and workers' compensation carriers Quickly and efficiently respond to patient, employer, case manager and adjuster inquiries and requests Collect, maintain, update and document all relevant information for the treatment of patients and payment of workers' compensation claims Work closely with adjusters and employers to make sure all provider documentation is received and sent in a timely manner Develop knowledge of the workers' compensation industry by being receptive and coachable to instruction from both Coordinators Other tasks as assigned by both Coordinators and Operation Manager
