About the
Role:
The Underground Labor position is essential for the successful execution of various underground construction and maintenance projects in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine. This role involves working in challenging environments to ensure the safety and efficiency of operations while adhering to industry standards and regulations. The primary end result of this position is to contribute to the completion of projects on time and within budget, while maintaining a high level of safety for all team members. The individual in this role will collaborate closely with the project manager, supervisors, and other laborers to ensure that all tasks are performed effectively. Ultimately, the Underground Labor position plays a critical role in supporting infrastructure development and maintenance that benefits the community.Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks. Basic understanding of safety practices in construction environments.Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in underground construction or labor. Certification in safety training or first aid. Familiarity with operating heavy machinery.Responsibilities:
Perform excavation and backfilling tasks in underground environments. Assist in the installation and maintenance of underground utilities, including water, sewer, and electrical systems. Follow safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all team members. Operate and maintain various hand and power tools used in underground construction. Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.Skills:
The required skills for this position include physical stamina and strength, which are essential for performing labor-intensive tasks in underground settings.
