  • Full-time Job Overview The Grill Guys is hiring a Grill Service Technician to service high-end outdoor kitchens across the greater Houston area from College Station to Galveston and Sealy to Livingston.
We specialize in deep cleaning, repair, and installation of premium grills — Fire Magic, Lynx, DCS, Viking, Coyote, Wolf, Twin Eagles, Napoleon, and more. Our clients are highly detail-oriented homeowners who take great pride in their outdoor spaces and expect a professional who is respectful, thorough, and trustworthy in their home. This is a commission-based field role paying top performers $1,000
  • 1,500 per week.
You'll work independently, completing 2-4 jobs per day with steady year-round demand. Tips are 100% yours. This role requires daily travel throughout the greater Houston area, visiting customers at their private residences. You will be working with discerning homeowners who have high standards and expectations — communication, punctuality, professionalism, and care for their property are non-negotiable. Responsibilities Perform deep cleaning of residential gas grills, including full disassembly, degreasing, parts inspection, and reassembly Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues — burners, igniters, regulators, valves, heat plates, grates Recommend and complete repairs, including parts replacement on premium brands Assemble and install new grills and outdoor kitchen components when needed Document each job in the Jobber app with before/after photos and detailed service notes Communicate professionally with homeowners about findings, pricing, and care recommendations Maintain accurate records of parts used, repairs performed, and time on site Manage your daily route, tools, and supplies efficiently as a solo operator Skills & Requirements Customer Experience Friendly, approachable demeanor — you'll be the face of our company in clients' backyards Exceptional communication skills — able to clearly explain what is wrong with an appliance, how to use it properly, and what work was done, all in plain language the homeowner can understand; also able to accurately relay the customer's needs and concerns back to the office Patient and respectful when answering questions, walking through pricing, or handling concerns Comfortable upselling repairs, replacement parts, and maintenance plans honestly and without pressure Active listener who picks up on what the customer actually wants, not just what they say Able to read a room — knows when a client wants conversation and when they want you to just get the job done Follows through on commitments: arrival windows, callbacks, and promised work Professional Presentation Well-groomed and clean-cut appearance on every job Wears the company uniform properly and keeps it clean throughout the day Maintains a clean, organized personal vehicle — clients see your truck before they see you Keeps work area tidy on-site; cleans up thoroughly before leaving Respectful of property — uses drop cloths, watches for pets and kids, removes shoes when asked Speaks professionally; no profanity, smoking, or phone use in front of clients Technical Skills Mechanically inclined — comfortable with full disassembly, troubleshooting, and reassembly of complex equipment Able to identify worn or failed parts: burners, igniters, regulators, valves, heat plates, grates, rotisserie motors Basic electrical troubleshooting (multimeter use, igniter and battery systems) Working knowledge of natural gas and propane systems — comfortable with gas line connections, leak testing (soap/bubble test), regulator function, and safe shutoff procedures Prior experience in grill repair, appliance service, HVAC, plumbing, or a similar trade strongly preferred — we'll train the right person on grill-specific work Independence & Reliability True self-starter — takes initiative, stays productive, and drives results without needing daily direction or supervision Strong time management — runs an efficient route and stays on schedule Good judgment when handling on-site decisions, pricing questions, or unexpected issues Trustworthy and accountable — you represent the company alone in clients' homes Physical & Job Requirements Able to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly and work outdoors in Texas heat Understanding of gas appliance safety standards and willingness to follow all safety protocols at every job Comfortable kneeling, bending, and working in tight spaces around built-in grills Reliable personal truck, van, or SUV capable of hauling cleaning equipment, supplies, and replacement parts Valid Texas driver's license, clean driving record, and current personal auto insurance Smartphone proficiency — we run on Jobber for scheduling, invoicing, photo documentation, and customer communication Punctual and reliable; honors arrival windows and shows up ready to work Available to work occasional Saturdays during peak season (spring through fall) Must be legally authorized to work in the United States Must be willing and able to travel daily throughout the greater Houston area to service customers at their homes What We Offer Competitive pay Tips kept 100% by the technician Steady year-round work — grills don't stop getting dirty Paid training on premium grill brands and our cleaning process Tools and cleaning supplies provided Branded uniforms provided Path to Senior Tech / Crew Lead for top performers To apply: Submit your resume through Indeed.
