What You'll Do:

Coordinate and monitor all rig operations and provides daily status reports to management. Implement the rig operations safety program, as established and directed by management. Hold safety meetings, write or approve JSAs and other safety guidance documents, train all personnel to conduct the operation safely. Evaluate current procedures and practices; make recommendations to management for work improvements and rig enhancements (both service equipment and down hole); implement decisions. Work and operate within the parameters of the contracts. Travel and relocate for temporary assignments as rigs are moved; work intermittently for extended periods with minimal time off. Onboard, train, and supervise employees as necessary to keep drilling crews in continuous operations; recommend the termination of employees as necessary, including releases when rigs are stacked. Direct drilling crews in setting up and operating power units, drawworks, and other drilling equipment; monitors all air

Manage the operation of both mechanical and electric drilling rigs, and able to perform all rig operations, including drilling, tripping, and fishing. Operate boom line, air hoist, and cat line to lift and move heavy supplies, equipment, and pipe. Move casing or drill pipe joints to and from pipe racks, catwalk, ramp, and rig floor as required. Remain alert to underground gas pressure which may lead to blowouts; prevent blowouts by activating emergency control unit if necessary. Examine drill cuttings from bottom of well to determine nature of strata; select and change drill bits accordingly. Keep record of supplies and chemicals used on each shift and reports to management; order supplies, equipment, and material as needed and as authorized. Monitor drilling record; calculate (by hand or machine) mud record, bit record, drilling assembly record, and pipe tally and reports to management. Supervise and assist in performing routine and preventive rig servicing, repair, and maintenance. Supervise and assist in erecting and dismantling rigs and associated drill site systems.

What We're Looking For:

Required Education, Experience and/or Abilities A high school diploma or equivalent education with seven to ten (7-10) years of prior experience on a drilling rig preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to be certified in IADC well sharp Drilling Operations Driller and supervisory level courses Additional Eligibility Qualifications English language fluency, verbal and written.
