Coordinate and monitor all rig operations and provides daily status reports to management. Implement the rig operations safety program, as established and directed by management. Hold safety meetings, write or approve JSAs and other safety guidance documents, train all personnel to conduct the operation safely. Evaluate current procedures and practices; make recommendations to management for work improvements and rig enhancements (both service equipment and down hole); implement decisions. Work and operate within the parameters of the contracts. Travel and relocate for temporary assignments as rigs are moved; work intermittently for extended periods with minimal time off. Onboard, train, and supervise employees as necessary to keep drilling crews in continuous operations; recommend the termination of employees as necessary, including releases when rigs are stacked. Direct drilling crews in setting up and operating power units, drawworks, and other drilling equipment; monitors all air- hydraulic
- mechanical
- and electrical powered rig operation.
What We're Looking For:
Required Education, Experience and/or Abilities A high school diploma or equivalent education with seven to ten (7-10) years of prior experience on a drilling rig preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to be certified in IADC well sharp Drilling Operations Driller and supervisory level courses Additional Eligibility Qualifications English language fluency, verbal and written.
