This is a hands-on field position supporting upstream and midstream oil & gas facilities . The successful candidate will have strong instrumentation and field automation experience and be comfortable completing installations, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance across wellsites and production facilities. Individuals applying should have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, be reliable, have excellent communication skills, a safety-first mindset, and be able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing and a background check.
The successful candidate:
Has a safety-first mindset Has 5+ years of Instrument Technician experience Has previous upstream and midstream oil & gas experience Has strong field automation and control systems experience Experience completing instrumentation installations and commissioning at compressor stations, wellsites, SWDs, CTBs, and production facilities Experience performing day-to-day troubleshooting and maintenance on instrumentation and control systems Has an understanding of automation, control systems, VFDs/VSDs, and associated field equipment Able to troubleshoot instrumentation and control issues in operating oil & gas environments Works with operations and field teams to identify problems and provide effective technical solutions Communicates effectively with customers regarding troubleshooting, maintenance, commissioning, and operational issues Performs well in a team environment Reliable, dependable, and punctual Displays a self-motivated, strong work ethic Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication skills Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Has a valid driver's license with a clean 3-year driving record Able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing and background check Must be a U.S. Citizen, Lawful Permanent Resident, or eligible to qualify for an appropriate U.S. work visa Must have a clear criminal record where required for U.S. work visa eligibility Preference will be given to candidates who: Have PLC, RTU, or automation programming experience Have electrical control panel wiring and troubleshooting experience Have strong knowledge of automation and industrial control systems Have extensive experience working at upstream and midstream oil & gas facilities Hold current SafeLand, First Aid, H2S Clear, Fall Arrest, NFPA 70E (Arc Flash), and Aerial Lift certifications Crossroad can work with qualified candidates to renew expired safety certifications or obtain required certifications where necessary.
