Job Description

Overview We are seeking a motivated and experienced Contract Pumper/SWD Operator to join our dynamic team in supporting oil and gas extraction operations. This role is vital in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of pumping systems and associated heavy equipment on oil rigs and construction sites. As a Contract Pumper/SWD Operator, you will be responsible for managing pipeline flow, operating heavy machinery, and maintaining mechanical systems to support drilling and production activities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where safety, technical expertise, and teamwork are paramount. Responsibilities Operate and monitor oil pumping units (pumps) and SWD (Salt Water Disposal) equipment to ensure optimal flow rates and system performance. Manage pipeline operations, including connecting, disconnecting, and troubleshooting pipeline systems during drilling or production phases. Safely operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tanker trucks on construction or oil rig sites. Conduct routine inspections of mechanical systems, pipelines, and equipment to identify maintenance needs or potential safety hazards. Assist with horizontal drilling operations by setting up rigging, handling tools, and supporting the movement of drilling components. Follow OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards and company safety protocols at all times to maintain a safe working environment. Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, maintenance activities, and operational logs for compliance and reporting purposes. Qualifications Proven experience working on oil rigs or construction sites involving heavy equipment operation. Mechanical knowledge related to pumps, pipelines, hydraulic systems, and general oil & gas infrastructure. Ability to operate heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tanker trucks, and other construction equipment safely. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards applicable to oil & gas operations and construction environments. Valid commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement preferred for transporting materials or equipment. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently. Nice-to-have skills include experience with rigging procedures, familiarity with oil & gas industry regulations, construction site experience, mechanical certifications, and proficiency in operating specialized equipment like SWD units or hydraulic tools. $25.00 - $29.00 per hour
