Job Description
Job Summary Commercial Solar Solutions (CSS) is seeking a skilled Motor Grader Operator to support solar construction projects across the United States. In this role, you will be responsible for performing precise grading operations to prepare access roads, equipment pads, trench paths, and solar array rows according to engineering specifications. The ideal candidate has experience operating motor graders, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively with civil construction teams. Key Responsibilities Perform rough and finish grading for solar array rows, inverter pads, access roads, and drainage channels. Safely operate motor graders, GPS-equipped grading systems, and other earthmoving equipment. Follow engineering plans, grade stakes, and layout markers to ensure accurate site preparation. Verify grade accuracy using GPS systems, laser levels, and manual measurements. Construct and maintain site access roads for equipment and crew transportation. Adhere to OSHA, company, and project-specific safety standards. Coordinate grading activities with civil crews, electricians, and project managers to maintain project schedules. Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance or mechanical issues promptly. Physical & Work Requirements Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Capable of working on active construction sites with uneven terrain. Ability to sit, climb, bend, and operate heavy equipment for extended periods. Must be able to work safely around heavy machinery and construction crews. Willingness to travel to project sites as required. Experience Minimum of 2 years of heavy equipment operating experience , preferably operating motor graders. Experience with GPS grading systems and earthmoving equipment is preferred. High School Diploma or GED required. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work. Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and OSHA compliance. Why Join Us?
