Department:
The Construction/Maintenance Division strives to design, build, maintain, and operate public infrastructure in such a manner as to support and enhance the quality of life for Huntsville's residents.
Equipment Operator III Position Overview:
This is skilled work in the operation of heavy equipment used in construction, maintenance, and repair work. This classification differs from an Equipment Operator II position in that a majority of the incumbent's time is spent operating heavy equipment or transporting large pieces of heavy equipment.
Qualifications and Necessary Special Requirements:
High school diploma or GED certificate and considerable experience in the operation of heavy equipment and heavy trucks; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must have a valid driver's license Must pass the written portion of the CDL Class A within six (6) months of hire and/or promotion date. Must pass the driving test and obtain a valid CDL, Class A within eleven (11) months of hire and/or promotion date.
