Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating excavators and other heavy machinery on construction sites. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe and efficient completion of excavation tasks, including digging, grading, and site preparation. The Excavator Operator will work closely with other crew members to ensure that projects are completed on time and no damages to other utilities. Responsibilities Operate excavators and other heavy equipment, including Caterpillar machinery, in a safe and efficient manner. Perform digging, trenching, and grading tasks as required by project specifications. Collaborate with site supervisors and other operators to coordinate work activities. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance. Follow all safety protocols and regulations while working on construction sites. Maintain accurate records of work performed and report any issues or concerns to supervisors. Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions. Requirements Proven experience as an Excavator Operator or similar role in a construction environment. Familiarity with horizontal drilling techniques is a plus. Valid commercial driving license (CDL) preferred but not mandatory. Strong mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance and repairs on equipment. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining focus on safety standards. Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks associated with excavation work. Flexibility to work varying hours based on project needs. Ability to confidently excavate WITHOUT hitting underground utilities!
