Summary Under supervision, operates material handler, similar style to an excavator, as well as other Heavy Equipment including wheel loader and articulating dump truck. in a facility, unloading or loading trucks, semis, rail cars with material, sorting material in yard. Unloads customer vehicles including small or medium trucks or semi-trailers Sorts material in appropriate areas Loads trucks and rail cars with scrap material Ensures torch cutter is supplied with material to torch Inspects all loads according to yard standards, ensuring rail cars and semi-trailers are safe to leave the yard Inspects all inbound/outbound material Greases and changes oil on machine. Handles minor maintenance duties on the crane. Safety:
Wears all necessary PPE when working in the yard. Follows company safety standards at all times. Failure to follow standards, may result in loss of position.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED preferred but not required. Prior experience operating heavy machinery and driving a semi-tractor/trailer preferred but not required as we will train candidates. Basic machine maintenance knowledge a plus. Must be able to lift a minimum of 30-50 lbs and 100+lbs on 2-person lift.
