For complete Job duties and to apply to this job, ask an EDD Representative (job order number indicated above). We are a 6000-acre flat and row crop farming operation. Using flood and sprinkler irrigation we mainly grow alfalfa, sugar beets, celery, potatoes and melons. Our equipment fleet consists of both new and late model tractors and farm implements. Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: attach/detach implements; be able to handle working in high humidity; clean work areas; load inputs and drive trucks to transport to fields; maintain grounds and landscaping; maintain inventory; record information about crops; repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; set up repair, maintain, and operate specialized equipment; use hand tools such as wrenches, crow bars, air tools, electric tools; work in extreme temperatures; will also be required to supervise other employees. Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: GPS guidance systems, forklift, irrigation equipment, pickups, cars, etc., planters, tillage equipment, tractor/trailer combinations, tractors. The workers will be performing duties to help produce hay, potatoes, sugar beets, and vegetables. Two (2) months of recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate driver's license (class c) following hire and obtain clean driving record (all costs will be the employer's responsibility). Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment. H-2A General Assurances (guarantees to workers) Housing The employer must provide free housing to all workers who are not reasonably able to return to their residences the same day. Meals The employer must provide either three meals a day to each worker or furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities. If meals are provided, the employer may charge each worker a certain amount per day for the three meals. Transportation 1. After a worker has completed 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer must reimburse the worker for the cost of transportation and subsistence form the place of recruitment to the place or work, if such costs were borne by the worker. 7/186 2. The employer must provide free transportation between the employer's housing and the work site for any worker who is provided housing. 3. Upon completion of the work contract, the employer must pay the worker's subsistence and return transportation to the place of recruitment. 4. Special conditions apply when the worker will not be returning to the place of recruitment because of another job. Workers Compensation Insurance The employer must provide workers' compensation insurance where it is required by law. Tools and Supplies The employer must furnish at no cost to the worker all tools and supplies necessary to carry out the work unless it is common practice in the area and occupation for the worker to provide certain items. Three-fourth Guarantee The employer must guarantee to offer each worker employment for at least three-fourths of the workdays in the work contract period and any extensions. If the employer affords less employment, then the employer must pay the amount which the worker would have earned had the worker been employed the guaranteed number of days. Other Conditions 1. The employer must provide the worker a complete statement of hours worked and related earnings on each payday. 2. The employer must pay the worker at least twice monthly or more frequently if it is in the prevailing practice to do so. 3. The employer must provide a copy of a work contract or the job order to each worker. 4. The employer shall comply with applicable federal, state, and local employment - related laws and regulations, including employment-related health and safety laws. 5. No U.S. worker will be rejected for or terminated from employment for other than a lawful-job-related reason and notification of all rejections or terminations shall be made to EDD. 6. Las tareas incluyen, entre otras: acoplar y desacoplar implementos; trabajar en condiciones de alta humedad; limpiar áreas de trabajo; cargar insumos y conducir camiones para transportarlos a los campos; mantener los terrenos y el paisajismo; mantener el inventario; registrar información sobre los cultivos; reparar y mantener vehículos agrícolas, implementos y equipos mecánicos; reparar edificios agrícolas, cercas y otras estructuras; instalar, reparar, mantener y operar equipos especializados; usar herramientas manuales como llaves inglesas, palancas, herramientas neumáticas y eléctricas; trabajar en temperaturas extremas; y supervisar a otros empleados. Los trabajadores utilizarán/operarán, entre otros, los siguientes equipos en relación con sus tareas: sistemas de guía GPS, montacargas, equipos de riego, camionetas, automóviles, etc., sembradoras, equipos de labranza, combinaciones de tractor y remolque, tractores.
