Job Description J. Torres Co. Inc. is seeking a motivated and skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team at Edwards AFB. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy machinery while ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality throughout all phases of work. Your expertise in equipment operation and commitment to strict safety protocols will be vital in delivering successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities Equipment Operation:

Operate heavy machinery—including excavators, compactors, loaders, water trucks, roll-off trucks, and other specialized equipment—with precision and safety at a solid waste landfill site.

Pre/Post Inspections:

Conduct daily equipment inspections to ensure optimal performance, proactive maintenance, and full safety compliance.

Safety & Compliance:

Strictly follow all equipment safety procedures and OSHA/occupational safety regulations to maintain a secure work environment.

Team Collaboration:

Coordinate closely with site team members to execute project plans accurately while adhering to project timelines and safety standards.

Documentation:

Maintain detailed daily records of equipment usage, maintenance needs, and safety checks for accountability and compliance purposes. Qualifications & Requirements Proven experience operating heavy machinery (Excavator, Loader, Compactor, Roll-off Truck, etc.). Experience working on/in landfill or solid waste operations is highly preferred. Ability to pass required base access background checks for Edwards AFB. Strong commitment to safety regulations and proper equipment operation. Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
