(Department of Transportation) regulations Non-CDL Class C Waste transport Full Job Description Position Summary We are hiring a reliable and safety-focused Light Duty Truck Driver to support our Environmental Waste Management operations at Edwards Air Force Base, CA . Drivers will operate company vehicles to collect and transport waste, recyclables, and organic materials while maintaining compliance with environmental and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Operate collection and transport trucks safely on assigned routes Able to operate a Box Van (2 axle) Ability to sort recyclables and lose cardboard Picking Up 35 Gallon Containers Unloading Recyclables (Glass/Plastic) Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles Maintain accurate route, load, and service documentation Communicate effectively with dispatch and route supervisors Report route issues, safety hazards, or mechanical problems promptly Follow all DOT regulations, traffic laws, and environmental safety guidelines Represent J. Torres Co. professionally with customers and the public Requirements Valid California C License (Class A, B Preferred) Clean DMV driving record (H-6 printout required) Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience (environmental or waste industry preferred) Must pass DOT physical and drug/alcohol screening Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in outdoor environments Dependable, safety-oriented, and professional Preferred Certifications CPR and First Aid Certification Forklift or Heavy Equipment Safety Training HAZMAT Awareness Certification Schedule Monday-Friday (some Saturdays) 8:00 am - 4:30pm Some Overtime Opportunities Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly pay (based on experience and license class) Vacation Pay and Sick Pay Health insurance and paid holidays Career advancement opportunities Apply Today!
