Job Description
Join Our Team Mid Valley Disposal is looking for a dependable and safety-focused Heavy Equipment Operator to support operations at our Material Recovery Facility (MRF) and Compost Operations site. If you enjoy hands-on work, operating heavy machinery, and being part of a company focused on environmental sustainability, we want to hear from you. This position plays a key role in keeping materials moving efficiently throughout our recycling and composting operations while maintaining a safe and productive work environment. What You'll Do Safely operate front-end loaders and other heavy equipment Move, load, sort, and transport recyclable and waste materials Maintain material flow to conveyors and processing areas Complete daily equipment inspections and report mechanical issues Maintain clean and organized work areas Identify and report unsafe conditions, contamination, or prohibited materials Follow OSHA and company safety procedures at all times Work closely with supervisors, spotters, maintenance staff, and team members Assist with site cleanup and additional facility duties as needed What We're Looking For Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or GED At least 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment, preferably front-end loaders Experience in recycling, waste, or solid waste operations is a plus Skills & Abilities Strong safety awareness and attention to detail Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Reliable attendance and punctuality Good communication and teamwork skills Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field Work Environment This role involves working around heavy equipment, dust, noise, and outdoor environmental conditions.
