Work will be in the Long Beach, Carson, and Torrance areas.
Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Class A CDL Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a commercial vehicle to transport to various locations, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries. You will work independently and collaborate with the operations team to ensure that schedules and safety standards are met.
Requirements:
Tanker and Hazmat Endorsements Required or able to obtain in 30 days.
Responsibilities:
Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. Transport freight to designated destinations in a timely manner. Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and proper functioning. Maintain accurate delivery logs, including mileage, fuel use, and delivery details. Load and unload cargo when necessary, securing the load for safe transportation. Follow all safety procedures and industry regulations, including DOT rules. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and management regarding route changes, delays, or issues. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle. Assist with minor vehicle maintenance as needed.
Qualifications:
Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record. Ability to lift and move heavy items when necessary. Strong attention to detail and safety protocols. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work independently and follow schedules. Knowledge of GPS and basic route planning tools.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for extended periods while driving. Good vision and hearing to operate a vehicle safely. Must be able to pass a physical and drug test. Salary determined upon experience.
