The essential functions of this position are to operate several types of construction equipment, such as backhoes, excavators, reach-lifts, cranes, etc. Also willing to help labor crews on the ground when needed. Primary Responsibilities & Duties Proficient in heavy equipment operation with hands-on experience in digging, grading, hoisting and other construction-related tasks. Experience in excavation in and around existing utilities typical to treatment facilities. Trenching for installation of storm drain, water pipes, sewer pipes and other plant utilities a must. Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues with machinery. Ability to operate various types of construction equipment safely and efficiently. Excellent communication skills to work effectively within a team environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices. Willingness to assist all crews with other types of work when needed. Knowledge of equipment to check and maintain all fluid levels and lubrication. Qualifications Strong working knowledge, skills, and abilities for responsibilities and duties. Ability to follow and communicate instructions. Proficiency in the safe and efficient use heavy equipment. Additional Information Prevailing Wage including fringe benefits (healthcare, dental, 401k). Full time, typically 8-hr shifts Monday - Friday.
