In this role, you will be responsible for operating backhoes and other heavy machinery to perform excavation, loading, and site preparation tasks. Additionally, you will handle the safe transport of construction equipment across job sites, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of heavy equipment and contribute to large-scale construction projects that make a real impact. Duties Operate backhoes, excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, and horizontal drilling equipment with precision and safety. Transport heavy construction machinery between sites using commercial driving skills and proper securing techniques. Assist in site preparation by digging trenches, foundations, and grading surfaces in accordance with project specifications. Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure optimal functioning and report any maintenance needs promptly. Follow all safety protocols and construction site procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and team members. Coordinate with project managers and other operators to schedule equipment usage efficiently. Support various construction activities such as paving, water management, and site cleanup as needed. Requirements Proven experience operating heavy equipment including backhoes, excavators (Caterpillar preferred), dozers, loaders, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, and horizontal drilling machinery. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record for transporting equipment between sites. Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy machinery maintenance and troubleshooting. Construction site experience with familiarity in excavation, paving, grading, and general construction operations. Ability to read technical manuals and follow detailed instructions accurately. Knowledge of safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and transportation. Physical ability to perform demanding tasks including lifting heavy loads and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
