Job Description

With a strong foundation rooted in Safety, Service, and Stewardship, we have grown to multiple locations offering a wide range of products including construction aggregates, dirt import/export, environmental waste hauling, and sports field products. We are committed to integrity and excellence in every project we undertake. Job Overview This is a full-time, year-round position, working for a local trucking and material company. Workdays are Monday through Friday, with frequent overtime and Saturday work. You will operate a front loader, feeding machinery, and loading big trucks. You will also operate fork lift, street sweeper and water truck, and perform a variety of manual tasks as necessary for day to day operations. You will be responsible for working safely in a fast-paced workplace, as part of a team. You will also assist in routine maintenance of assorted pieces of equipment, keep track of inventory, and learn company processes. Duties Operate heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, dozers, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, and horizontal drilling machinery to load and move materials efficiently Assist with the loading and unloading of construction materials for delivery or storage Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance Support construction site activities by preparing materials and maintaining a clean work environment Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents and ensure team safety Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and material movement Collaborate with team members to coordinate daily yard operations effectively Qualifications Mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment operation including loaders, excavators, dozers, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, and horizontal drilling machinery Experience operating commercial vehicles such as dump trucks or tanker trucks is preferred Must have a California Driver's license with a clean DMV report. Class A or B is a plus, as is a tanker endorsement. Construction site experience demonstrating familiarity with safety procedures and material handling Ability to operate Caterpillar equipment or similar heavy machinery confidently Strong understanding of construction processes and equipment maintenance Physical ability to perform manual labor including lifting heavy loads and working outdoors in various weather conditions Join us at West Coast Sand & Gravel where your skills will contribute directly to building infrastructure that lasts!
