Class A Heavy-Duty Wrecker & Landoll Operator Alberto's Towing is hiring an experienced Class A Heavy-Duty Wrecker and Landoll Operator to perform heavy-duty towing, recovery, equipment transport, and roadside-service assignments throughout Southern California. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, professional, and experienced with commercial vehicles and heavy equipment. Responsibilities Operate heavy-duty wreckers, Landoll trailers, and related towing and recovery equipment. Tow tractors, trailers, buses, box trucks, motorhomes, refuse trucks, and other commercial vehicles. Load, secure, transport, and unload heavy equipment, machinery, forklifts, containers, commercial vehicles, and disabled trucks using a Landoll trailer. Properly position the Landoll deck, operate the winch and hydraulic systems, and safely control loading and unloading angles. Determine equipment weight, dimensions, axle distribution, deck capacity, and securement requirements before transport. Inspect loading and unloading areas for adequate clearance, surface stability, overhead hazards, and safe access. Perform accident recovery, winching, uprighting, load shifts, decking, undecking, and roadside assistance. Properly connect driveline, air, steering, lighting, safety-chain, and braking systems. Select appropriate attachment points and properly use chains, straps, binders, shackles, snatch blocks, and recovery equipment. Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report equipment defects immediately. Maintain accurate photographs, invoices, tow tickets, inspection reports, and electronic job records. Communicate professionally with dispatchers, customers, law enforcement, repair facilities, equipment dealers, and fleet managers. Follow company safety procedures and all applicable DOT, CHP, FMCSA, cargo-securement, and traffic regulations. Maintain the assigned truck, Landoll trailer, chains, binders, rigging, tools, and compartments in a clean and organized condition. Participate in an on-call rotation and respond promptly to emergency assignments. Qualifications Valid Class A commercial driver's license . Acceptable driving record and ability to meet company insurance requirements. Demonstrated heavy-duty towing and/or commercial recovery experience. Previous Landoll or traveling-axle trailer experience strongly preferred . Experience loading, balancing, securing, transporting, and unloading heavy vehicles, machinery, and equipment. Knowledge of weight distribution, axle ratings, working-load limits, tie-down requirements, and cargo securement. Knowledge of air brakes, driveline removal, axle securement, steering securement, and commercial vehicle towing procedures. Ability to inspect chains, binders, straps, winch cables, hydraulic systems, and attachment points before use. Ability to work safely around traffic, accident scenes, confined spaces, adverse weather, and nighttime conditions. Ability to lift, carry, pull, and position heavy chains, rigging, tools, and equipment. Current medical certificate and endorsements required for the assigned equipment. Ability to pass all required background, driving-record, drug, and alcohol screenings. Professional appearance, strong communication skills, and dependable attendance. Availability for nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency calls as scheduled. Preferred Experience Heavy-duty integrated wreckers, underlifts, or rotators. Landoll 440 or comparable traveling-axle trailers. Heavy machinery and equipment transportation. Tractor-trailer, bus, refuse-truck, and commercial-fleet towing. Accident recovery and vehicle uprighting. Tractor decking and undecking. accounts, motor clubs, equipment dealers, and commercial fleets.

Compensation and Benefits Pay:

$ 30-38 per hour or commission , depending on experience. commision pay is available for night time or weekend calls which pay very generously Overtime provided as required by applicable law. Full-time schedule with on-call opportunities. Training and advancement opportunities available for qualified operators.
