Role Overview As a Senior Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be a key contributor on complex excavating and grading projects across Colorado. You'll bring the experience, skill, and professionalism to run equipment independently. Exceptional finish grading ability is a must without GPS. Responsibilities Independently operate grading and earthmoving equipment — including loaders, excavators, skid steers, dozers, and other various equipment — under foreman/manager direction without additional training Deliver excellent finish grading results on energy-sector and infrastructure projects Experience excavating in heavy rock and mountainous terrain Ability to identify wetlands and apply critical thinking to navigate site challenges Conduct pre-shift and ongoing equipment inspections; perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance Collaborate professionally with team members, clients, and subcontractors; maintain a positive, respectful attitude on site Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and participate in daily safety tailgate meetings Accurately complete daily timesheets documenting project activity Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues; promptly report significant concerns to supervisors Qualifications Minimum 8 years of hands-on heavy equipment operation experience (10+ years strongly preferred) Demonstrated, verifiable finish grading expertise (non-negotiable) Thorough knowledge of construction site protocols, OSHA standards, and safety regulations Valid driver's license with a clean MVR sufficient for insurability Reliable transportation to the shop or designated jobsite Proper I-9 documentation confirming authorization to work in the United States Travel Requirements In-state travel during the workweek is required for many projects. You will be home on weekends in most cases. When working out of town, Redeker covers all hotel accommodations upfront and provides a nightly per diem that exceeds industry standards.
