Non-ExemptJOB SUMMARY
The Hydrovac Operator is responsible for transporting hydro-excavation equipment to various project sites and operating that equipment. The Hydrovac Operator will perform potholing of underground utilities and other hydro-excavation tasks. The operator must hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and adhere to industry standards and safety protocols. Through daily coordination with the Logistics Manager and/or the Logistics Coordinator, the Hydrovac Operator will safely utilize all functions of the hydro-excavation equipment, including the vacuum system, high-pressure water system, and debris tank. The operator ensures the safety of others working near the vacuum truck by maintaining clear communication and following safety procedures. Additionally, the operator coordinates dump locations and procedures for the disposal of waste material, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. The role also includes maintaining equipment, performing routine inspections, and supporting project teams in achieving their objectives. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and teamwork.REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Core Duties /Responsibilities:
Professionally represents JHL Constructors and supports company strategic initiatives. Operates hydro-excavation equipment to perform potholing and other excavation tasks. Transports hydro-excavation equipment to various project sites, ensuring timely arrival and adherence to schedules. Maintains and inspects equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance. Fosters positive relationships with project teams, subcontractors, and business partners. Adheres to safety protocols and company health and safety plans. Completes daily reports and documentation of activities, progress, and any issues encountered. Participates in continuous improvement training programs to enhance skills and promote best practices. Assists with miscellaneous department duties, administrative tasks, and team initiatives.Education / Experience
/Training:
High School Diploma / GED. Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required. Class A. Tanker Endorsement "N" required. At least two (2) years of experience operating large trucks and hydro-excavation equipment. Knowledge of underground utility locating and potholing techniques. OSHA 10-Hour certification required; 30-hour preferred.Knowledge / Skills

Demonstrates resilience in challenging situations. Shows adaptability to changing circumstances. Interactive communication and problem-solving skills.Physical Requirements:
Field Must have the ability to remain in a standing or kneeling position for extended periods. Must have the ability to lift tools and supplies, up to 50 lbs. Must have the ability to hear clearly. Must have the ability to stoop, kneel, bend, and reach. Must have dexterity to utilize and manipulate tools and materials. Must have clear vision, or wear glasses/contacts if vision is obscured. Must be able to stand, walk, and kneel on rough and uneven terrain for extended periods.TOTAL COMPENSATION
