This person will primarily serve to support the Center's administrative functions and will report directly to the Center Director. The ideal candidate for this position will have three years of administrative support experience, including support of operations, organizational management, outreach to internal and external partners, grant budget management, account monitoring, computer skills, and communication (website maintenance, etc.). Job responsibilities and duties are subject to change throughout duration of employment. Assignments may include tasks in the following areas: Administrative Duties Regular weekly to monthly duties include: Maintain up-to-date research project budget tracking and budget projections Interface with the Office of Research Administration and Foundation on post-award and post-gift management, e.g., billing, journal entries, payroll reallocations, reporting, monthly spending reports to sponsors Assist in student and postdoctoral fellow contract budgeting and submittals Review procurement card reports and student timesheets Help facilitate the coordination, planning and delivery of two industry short courses Coordinate, with appropriate faculty and students, key Center activities including lunch and learns, receptions, student trips, etc. Liaise with industry partners on behalf of the Center Calendar and meeting management for Center activities Routinely communicate with office staff around Mines campus Coordinate record keeping for laboratories and office spaces operated by the Center Other semesterly to yearly duties include: Prepare expense reports for general laboratory purchasing Arrange group travel for conferences and field trips Assist with preparation of required project reports Request purchase orders and serve as communications liaison between outside contractors

Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience:

Bachelor degree in Business Administration or related field from an accredited institution (education can be substituted with specialized experience in higher education academic departments) 2 years of progressive, administration experience related to project and program management and operational oversight 2 years of experience with developing, monitoring and managing budgets, resource management, and financial reporting

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving and decision-making skills Strong expertise in business and management computer applications and databases Ability to keep abreast of general higher education trends Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with faculty, staff and students on a variety of topics Ability to be sensitive to the needs and concerns of faculty, staff, and students and other members of the University in a manner that is professional, objective and easily understood Preferred Qualifications 5 years in a management position that includes supervisory experience Significant experience with Banner, Workday or other ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system Experience in higher education A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity of perspective About Mines & Golden, CO When the world looks for answers, the world looks to Mines.
