Heavy Equipment Operator - Front End Loader Citrus Grove/Farming

Heavy Equipment Operator-Front End Loader Reports To:

JOB SUMMARY

Operates heavy equipment in a safe and caring manner while working efficiently and effectively in a Citrus Grove/Farming Operation.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operates Heavy Equipment (Front End Loader). May also operate Motor Grader, Backhoe, Dozier, or Excavator sometimes)
• Perform daily safety inspection of the equipment, attachments and implements before operating.
• Perform routine service, maintenance and cleaning of the equipment, attachments and implements.
• Understand and comply with OSHA and Company rules for operating heavy equipment.

OTHER DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES

• Clear old trees from the Grove and/or move them to other places within the grove.
• Report all equipment malfunctions and any operational, maintenance or safety issues immediately.
• Adhere to all company safety rules and policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Knowledge and physical ability to operate certain types of heavy equipment.
• Ability to talk, hear, and taste or smell.
• Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
• Frequently required to sit and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools and controls.
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods.
• Ability to perform physical work including walking, reaching with hands and arms, climbing, balancing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, pushing/pulling and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and demonstrated instructions/directions .
• Ability to successfully complete safety training and any other training required by management.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Grove environment with exposure to outdoor/changing conditions.

Compensation:

Based on experience Bilingual abilities (Spanish) are preferred but not required.
