Full Job Description Equipment Operator Position Summary:
The Equipment Operator is responsible for safely operating and maintaining machinery used in the production yard and manufacturing areas of the facility. This position supports daily plant operations by moving raw materials, finished product, forms, and equipment while maintaining a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and quality. Operators work closely with production, shipping, and yard personnel to ensure materials are handled properly and production schedules are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate heavy equipment including forklifts, loaders, skid steers, excavators, and other machinery as required. Perform daily equipment inspections and complete pre-operational checklists. Identify and report mechanical issues, damage, or unsafe conditions immediately. Operate equipment efficiently while minimizing damage to products, equipment, and property. Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment in an industrial, manufacturing, construction, or precast environment preferred. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks as needed. Valid Drivers license with acceptable driving record preferred.
Work Environment:
Exposure to outdoor weather conditions for long periods of time. Work performed may require extended standing, climbing, bending, and working around heavy equipment and suspended loads.
