Position Summary McLain Site Solutions is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our civil site work team. This position is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment to perform site development, earthwork, grading, excavation, and utility installation activities. The ideal candidate has experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment, can read site plans and grade stakes, and is committed to producing quality work while maintaining a safe job site. Essential Responsibilities Safely operate heavy equipment, including: Excavators Bulldozers Wheel Loaders Motor Graders Skid Steers Rollers/Compactors Off-Road Dump Trucks (Articulated Trucks) Perform excavation, earthmoving, grading, site preparation, and backfilling operations. Excavate for underground utilities, including water, sewer, force main, and storm drainage systems. Load and transport materials safely and efficiently. Fine grade building pads, roadways, parking lots, and drainage areas to project specifications. Read and interpret construction plans, grade stakes, cut/fill sheets, and utility layouts. Work closely with survey crews to maintain proper line and grade. Perform daily equipment inspections and complete equipment inspection reports. Identify mechanical issues and report maintenance needs promptly. Maintain equipment in a clean and safe operating condition. Assist laborers and utility crews when equipment operation is not required. Work safely around underground utilities, trenching operations, and other heavy equipment. Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Maintain production goals while minimizing equipment wear and fuel consumption. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Minimum 3 years of heavy equipment operating experience in heavy civil construction. Experience operating excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, skid steers, rollers, and articulated dump trucks. Experience with site development, earthwork, grading, and underground utility projects. Ability to read grade stakes, cut/fill sheets, blueprints, and construction plans. Strong understanding of excavation safety and underground utility awareness. Ability to perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Excellent safety awareness and attention to detail. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Preferred GPS machine control experience (Topcon, Trimble, or Leica). Experience operating equipment with GPS grade control systems.

CDL. OSHA

10 or OSHA 30 Certification. CPR/First Aid Certification. Experience with FDOT and commercial site development projects. Bilingual (English/Spanish). Physical Requirements Frequently sit for extended periods while operating heavy equipment. Frequently climb on and off equipment. Lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds. Frequently bend, kneel, crouch, and walk on uneven terrain. Work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Work Environment This position is performed primarily on active construction sites. Employees regularly work around heavy equipment, excavation activities, moving machinery, dust, vibration, noise, and varying weather conditions. Required PPE must be worn at all times.

7:00 AM

•5:00 PM One-hour unpaid lunch Overtime may be available based on project needs and business needs.
