Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Excavator Operator to join our metal recycling yard team. This position involves operating excavators equipped with grapples to process, sort, load, and dismantle scrap metal materials. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a scrap yard, demolition environment, recycling facility, or heavy industrial setting. Duties Operate excavators and auxiliary equipment such as loaders and forklifts with precision and safety. Load trucks, trailers, and containers with processed scrap materials. Perform routine inspections and maintenance on heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.. Follow all safety guidelines and procedures diligently to prevent accidents and ensure a secure work environment. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Assist with yard operations and material handling as needed. Work effectively with yard personnel, truck drivers, and management. Identify and separate different grades and types of metal. Qualifications Proven experience operating excavators in a construction setting with a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation principles. Mechanical knowledge related to excavator systems and general construction machinery maintenance. Ability to work in outdoor conditions year-round. Mechanical aptitude and equipment maintenance knowledge are a plus. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor when required.

Pay:
