Excavator Operator - GenerX Generators GenerX Generators , a growing and professional business, is expanding once again! We are currently hiring an experienced and dependable Excavator Operator to join our installation team. This position plays an important role in preparing residential job sites for whole-home generator installations. The Excavator Operator will be responsible for safely operating excavation equipment, completing trenching and site preparation, assisting with equipment placement, and supporting our installation crews in the field. What We're Looking For We're seeking a hardworking, reliable, and safety-conscious individual who is comfortable operating excavation equipment in residential environments. The ideal candidate is punctual, coachable, detail-oriented, and able to work closely with installation crews to complete projects safely and efficiently. Previous experience operating mini excavators and other construction equipment is strongly preferred . Experience with underground utilities, trenching, grading, landscaping, plumbing, gas piping, electrical construction, or generator installation is a plus.
Daily Responsibilities Include:
Safely operating mini excavators and other company equipment Excavating and trenching for underground gas and electrical utility lines Preparing areas for generator pads, fuel tanks, and associated equipment Assisting with the placement and positioning of generators and equipment Identifying and working carefully around existing utilities, irrigation, landscaping, structures, and other property features Maintaining proper trench depth, location, and job-site requirements Backfilling trenches and assisting with basic site restoration after installation Loading, unloading, securing, and transporting excavation equipment and materials Performing daily equipment inspections and identifying maintenance or safety concerns Keeping excavation equipment, trailers, trucks, and tools clean and organized Operating company vehicles and equipment safely and responsibly Using hand and power tools as needed Assisting installation crews with material handling and general field duties Following job plans and direction provided by Lead Installers and field management Maintaining a clean, organized, and professional job site Following all company safety procedures and applicable OSHA requirements Communicating immediately with leadership regarding underground obstacles, utility conflicts, property damage, unsafe conditions, or other job-site concerns Physical Requirements This is an active, outdoor field position.
Candidates must be able to:
Work outdoors in Florida weather conditions Frequently enter and exit excavation equipment Lift, carry, push, and move installation materials and equipment Perform physical labor, including digging and hand trenching when equipment cannot be used Work around residential construction sites and uneven terrain Safely work around underground utilities and operating equipment Why Join GenerX?
