Pipe Excavator Operator

Overview Join our dynamic construction team at Mainline Contracting Services Inc as a Pipe Excavator Operator installing underground utilities, and become a vital part of building infrastructure that shapes communities! In this role, you will operate heavy machinery, primarily excavators, to perform installation of underground piping. Your expertise will help ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. If you have a minimum of 1 year of pipe excavator experience on a pipe crew, this is the opportunity for you to showcase your skills and grow your career. Duties Operate excavators and other heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, skid steers, and rollers in the process of underground pipe installation. Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance Assist with site preparation activities including grading, trenching, and site clearing Coordinate with your foreman and other team members to execute construction plans efficiently while adhering to safety protocols Support other heavy equipment operations as needed Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a secure work environment for yourself and colleagues Qualifications Proven minimum 1 year experience operating excavators in a pipe laying setting with a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation principles Basic mechanical knowledge of excavators and related machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, skid steers, dump trucks, and other equipment. Valid commercial driver's license with experience in operating heavy vehicles like dump trucks and water trucks is highly desirable but not required. Familiarity with construction site safety standards and practices Ability to perform basic maintenance checks on machinery and troubleshoot minor issues Construction site experience involving pipe lasers and shooting grade is a plus Knowledge of Caterpillar (CAT) and Volvo equipment is advantageous We're looking for motivated individuals eager to contribute to impactful projects while advancing their expertise in heavy equipment operation. Pay:

$28.00 - $35.00 per hour
