Heavy Equipment Operator - Street Cleaning (Night Shift)

As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will operate and maintain assigned equipment, inspect equipment before use, ensure equipment repair is made and clean the beautiful streets of Savannah. Operates street sweeper and dump trucks. Completes route sheets and daily reports. Inspects equipment before use to ensure necessary repairs are made. Inspects job sites for possible hazards. Responds to customer inquiries and refers customer complaints to supervisor. Ensures proper equipment maintenance; performs minor repairs as necessary. Performs other related duties as assigned. High school diploma or GED; with two (2) years of heavy equipment operation and maintenance experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess and maintain a valid state Class B Commercial Driver's License. Must be able to work Monday - Thursday, 8:00 PM - 6:00 AM with overtime as required.

Knowledge of the safe and efficient operation of assigned heavy equipment. Knowledge of department safety procedures. Knowledge of the repair and maintenance of assigned vehicles and equipment. Skill in establishing priorities and organizing work. Skill in the operation of maintenance tools and equipment. Skill in oral and written communication.
