Job Title:
Heavy Equipment Operator Job Description This role involves safely and efficiently operating large heavy equipment on commercial job sites, primarily focused on civil site work and earthworks. You will handle large excavators, front end loaders, and dozers, and support the field team with general site activities when equipment operation is not required. Responsibilities Operate large excavators, front end loaders, and large dozers for civil site work and earthworks on commercial job sites. Perform site work activities, including grading, excavation, backfilling, and material handling, in accordance with project plans and specifications. Assist the field team with general construction tasks when not operating heavy equipment. Inspect equipment before and after use to ensure safe and efficient operation, and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns. Follow all safety procedures and site-specific regulations to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and others. Coordinate with supervisors and crew members to complete daily tasks on schedule and to required quality standards. Operate heavy equipment in a variety of site conditions, including uneven terrain and active construction areas. Maintain a clean and organized work area and contribute to overall job site cleanliness and orderliness. Essential Skills CurrentMA 2A-1C
hoisting license. Minimum of 5+ years of experience operating large heavy equipment, including excavators, front end loaders, and large dozers. Proficiency in civil site work and earthworks operations. Demonstrated ability to safely operate heavy construction equipment on large commercial job sites. Reliable transportation to and from job sites. Ability to travel up to an hour to reach various project locations. Strong understanding of construction site safety practices and procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with backhoes and other heavy equipment used in construction and site work. in construction, earthworks, and civil site operations. Ability to work collaboratively with field teams and adapt to changing site conditions. Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with supervisors and crew members. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
