Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM (Overtime Available)

$20.00/hour to start About the Opportunity A leading manufacturer of civil infrastructure and construction products is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Forklift / Heavy Equipment Operator to support daily production and distribution operations. This position plays a critical role in safely handling, loading, unloading, and transporting large pipe products, drainage materials, and other construction-related products throughout the facility and yard. Position Summary The Forklift / Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating forklifts and material handling equipment to move large and oversized products safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a manufacturing, warehouse, construction, or distribution environment and be committed to maintaining a safe and productive workplace. Essential Job Duties Operate forklifts and heavy equipment to transport large pipe products, drainage materials, and civil construction components throughout the facility. Load and unload trucks, trailers, and delivery vehicles safely and efficiently. Move finished products and raw materials between production, storage, and shipping areas. Stage materials for production schedules and customer shipments. Secure loads and ensure products are handled properly to prevent damage. Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns or safety issues. Maintain accurate inventory organization and material tracking. Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety procedures. Assist with general warehouse, yard, and production support activities as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Communicate effectively with supervisors, truck drivers, and team members to ensure smooth operations. Qualifications Previous forklift and/or heavy equipment operating experience required. Experience working in manufacturing, warehouse, construction, distribution, or industrial environments preferred. Ability to safely handle large, heavy, and oversized materials. Experience loading and unloading flatbed trailers is preferred. Strong commitment to workplace safety. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical job duties throughout the shift. Dependable attendance and strong work ethic. Forklift certification is a plus but not required. Preferred Experience Pipe manufacturing or construction materials industry experience. Experience handling concrete, plastic, steel, or civil infrastructure products. Operation of large-capacity forklifts, wheel loaders, or other heavy material handling equipment. Shipping and receiving experience. Candidates should be dependable, hardworking, and able to thrive in a fast-paced industrial setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Montgomery, AL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
