Job Description

Job Summary The Boise County Road & Bridge Department is seeking a qualified Full-Time Equipment Operator to support road maintenance and construction activities in the Idaho City area. The ideal candidate will have strong heavy equipment experience—particularly with a grader—and the ability to work safely and efficiently in all weather conditions. Key Responsibilities Operate a variety of heavy equipment, including motor graders, loaders, backhoes, and other machinery Perform road maintenance, repairs, and snow removal Maintain equipment through regular inspections and basic servicing Follow safety procedures and county policies at all times Work independently and as part of a team in remote outdoor environments Minimum Requirements Proven grader operating experience (required) Class A CDL with tanker endorsement (required) Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check Ability to work in extreme Idaho weather conditions (heat, cold, snow, rain) Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical labor as needed Must reside within 30mins of Idaho City to meet On-Call response requirements Preferred Qualifications Experience with rural/remote road systems Knowledge of basic equipment maintenance Snowplow or winter road maintenance experience
